Day 2 Continued

This afternoon we went on a guided walking tour of Ndarakwai ranch.  Now truthfully I expected this to be something the tour groip used to fill an afternoon.  I am not sure what I expected, but WOW was I pleased with what I got.  We walked through the African Savanna with a guide and a ranger with a gun.
Left to RIght is Lisa, Ashi, June, Mike and Dixon.  We started off seeing some monkeys and baboons.  Then we saw some Impalas.  They were kind of far away so I figured this was pretty cool.  Seeing wild animals from far away was nice.  I expected not to see many animals anyway until the Safari.

Then we came upon a termite mound.  These things are huge.

Next we saw a waterbuck.  We approached carefully since they are shy, but we got pretty close.
Then we came across some Zebra:
and some Wildebeast
and an eland it is the biggest antelope of them all.

and the we saw a Zebra skull reminding us of why Dixon has his gun.

The we came across some Giraffe.
Now remember we are walking and we are getting really close to these wild animals.  Lisa decided to try and see how close she could get.  She walked right up to him.
Look how close we are!  It was amazing.  Then we went to this treehouse near a watering hole.  It was nearing sunset and there were no animals there, but we had drinks and relaxed to watch the sunset.
So here is the sunset over the African savanna.

So we headed back before it got too dark.  Wow, what an awesome experience.
Tomorrow we start the climb so I'll be off the grid for about 9 days.  I'll post again when I can.  Thanks for reading this I hope you guys are enjoying it.  I know I am.
